Hello! Welcome to Blog Battle, a weekly writing prompt competition! If you haven’t already, check out the rules (more like instructions on how to participate & have fun).
Winning story for the week will earn this badge! 🙂 BUT that’s not all! One of our talented authors, Cathleen Townsend, has kindly offered her time, experience, and expertise to help make that winning story even better by giving the winner a free critique. If your story wins you can contact Cathleen by clicking here. She’s tough but kind!
**Last Week’s Winner is Fear of Forgiveness by Rachael Ritchey**
Post your story to your blog any time on Tuesday until Midnight PST (there is a grace period into Weds morning, so just let me know if you are late getting it done). Throughout the course of the day, we’ll add the links (to your blog w/story title) here.

We seem to have a problem with the link again, Rachael thought it worked in the beginning.

I never seem to get your pingbacks, Tess. I’m really not sure why.
So sorry, but thank you so much for posting the link so we don’t miss it! ❤

I don’t know why either. I used the hotlink you supplied. It worked a couple time and then not. Who knows what goes on behind the scenes.

I am finding that some comments are made to the blogbattlers blog and others to rachaelritchey blog and the little notification thing in the corner doesn’t put all the comments/likes/links/pingbacks on both, so I have to toggle back and forth between accounts. AND on top of that, it’s turning some gray (gray means “read” & blue means “unread”) that I’ve never even looked at.
I just need to be more diligent to really look through both blog site lists and keep an eye out for stuff that’s turned gray too. You’re awesome!

Quick question; I can only choose one option to vote for. Do I need to go ‘back to poll’ to select my second, and then repeat for my third choice? I wasn’t sure if it was supposed to be multi-select, like the ‘genre choices’ poll.

Oh shoot! There were only three stories pinged in when I originally set the poll. I’ll go fix that setting. If there’s less than 5 stories I leave it at one story to vote for, but I’m not really sure if that’s helpful either. I’ll correct it, then you can go back in and vote for your other favorites. Thanks for pointing that out. 🙂

Great! I voted for my #1 first time, so now I’ve gone back and voted for my #2 and #3.
They were all really unique and excellent takes on the prompt(s); I enjoyed reading them all.

The rules said to put a ping-back to the Rules page in my blog post, which I did, but just in case it’s not clear from my blog title, this is my entry for this week’s #BlogBattle:

(Sorry if I was meant to ping-back to this page—first time entrant, still figuring things out!)

No problem. I went back through my messages and finally found it, but it was grey instead of blue, implying I’d already seen it when I hadn’t, so that was odd. I’ll try to keep a better eye out in the future. Thank you so much. 🙂
