Rules:

  1. 1500 words max (effective May 2016)
  2. fictional tale (or true if you really want)
  3. PG (no more than PG-13) Content – let’s keep this family friendly!
  4. Your story must contain the word(s) from the theme and/or be centered around the theme in a way that shows it is clearly related.
  5. State the Genre of your story at the top/bottom of your post.
  6. Post your story on Tuesday by 11:59 PM PST (you have a week to write it)
  7. Go for the entertainment value!
  8. Put a link back to your #BlogBattle Short Story in the comments section, and/or include a link to a battle post (not a page) in your own blog post (it creates a “ping-back” which will alert me and our friends to your #BlogBattle post).
  9. Use the hashtag #BlogBattle when tweeting your story.
  10. Let us know if you have a Facebook author/writer page so we can LIKE it to stay connected.
  11. Have fun!

You have until the next Monday at midnight to read the submitted stories & vote for your top three. Please consider the expert use of the theme word when choosing.

    • I am wondering, but I’m afraid I made too big of a change with blog battle and basically bumped it off everyone’s radars. I know it’s been harder to find time to read lately, too, so maybe everyone else is in the same boat. It’s hard to say. All I know is I’m feeling like blogging is in some kind of weird holding pattern. I might have to rethink blog battle again to make it something entirely new and fresh? I think it’s easier to participate in SUPER short fiction like 99words stuff, so maybe we’ll look to making the battle something more like that? Ugh. Not sure where everybody went! :/

      • Hmm. I wouldn’t reinvent the wheel just yet. It really does feel like the whole blogosphere is in a holding pattern. Maybe wait it out a bit. You had a lot of great writers participating in this. I do like your idea of maybe making the limit slightly shorter so people have time to read. (Of course I would say that being such a fan of short fiction.) 😉 Though I wouldn’t make it a strict limit and I wouldn’t do super short.
