Hello! Welcome to Blog Battle, a weekly writing prompt competition! If you haven’t already, check out the rules (more like instructions on how to participate & have fun).
Winning story for the week will earn this badge! 🙂 BUT that’s not all! One of our talented authors, Cathleen Townsend, has kindly offered her time, experience, and expertise to help make that winning story even better by giving the winner a free critique. If your story wins you can contact Cathleen by clicking here. She’s tough but kind!
We had a tie last week, but it was close overall! Winners:
- The Finest Spirits by David Williamson
- History of the Keeper’s Prophecy Child by Rachael Ritchey
Post your story to your blog any time on Tuesday until Midnight PST (there is a grace period into Weds morning, so just let me know if you are late getting it done). Throughout the course of the day, we’ll add the links (to your blog w/story title) here.

OH man! They are iffy. That’s all I can say about those.
I’ll add your story ASAP! Sorry, Phoenix! On a side note, my sister-in-law and her family and my in-laws were in town this week, so I haven’t been as diligent with double checking.

I did. I miss them already. They are a family that rarely ever sits still, so it’s good to have them around and motivate us to get out of the house. haha How are you doing? How did it feel getting back into the battle? (Your story was 2nd place, btw! Even coming into the battle late! ❤ )

Sometimes you just need that motivation. 😊 I am still trying to fit everything in, but getting back to a better place, thank you. Wow, that’s cool! I will have to get one in again. I’m still trying to work out a new schedule, but i shall get there!
