Words & Genres for January 2017 Battles

To give us all a head start for the month, I’m going to do the words and genres by month instead of week. That way, if you’d like to write your stories ahead of time, or work and rework them before posting them on the given date, then you’ll have some extra time.

I’ll post February’s words and genres the last Monday of January and so forth each month. How does that sound? I think this will work out well, and I’ll always be reminding each week. There’ll be a link in the menu that will bring you to these posts too, so it will be easy to find the info! YAY!

January 10th

  • THEME WORD: Resolved
  • GENRE: Tall Tale
    • Tall tale – humorous story with blatant exaggerations, swaggering heroes who do the impossible with nonchalance

    • Fan fiction – fiction written by a fan of, and featuring characters from, a particular TV series, movie, or book

  1. I sit on the edge watching, keeping an eye from a distance. Have I the resolve to join the game? I ask myself… can I grasp the challenge?
Tugging open the secret drawer I removed the invisible bag, pulled my pants over my tights and fastened the royal blue and yellow cape to my skin tight vest. I hold my note book and pen in my hand and punch the air.Roaring at the top of my lungs… “I am super scripter! I have resolved to grasp the challenge go forth and with all my super hero self I will conquor!”
Wel I think that means I may join in soon if you’ll have me?

    • I hope it will help the planners and give the pansters some fun too. 🙂 Thank you! I’m glad you’re a part of all this, David.
LOL Thanks. Who knew I’d be yelling, “I killed it!” or “I died!” right along with my kids.
