The world is probably about to end – I’ve written something with more than a week left until the end of the month.

Exotic! What an interesting word! I’ll have to have a think about where to take that one…
I hope we’re all okay, I need to catch up on some of last month’s stories (don’t I always?). Sorry for the sluggishness — been rather busy my end. Got engaged, and working on the 2nd edition of my book to get it in stores for Halloween!
Will be delivering the latest of that little island when I get a moment! 🙂

Thanks, A.E.! We’re over the moon. 🙂 Hopefully this Corona business will be (mostly) settled by the time the wedding rolls around…

Good luck with the book Joshua! I’m stuck for just a short story for here lol.

Thanks, Gary! I just went off the cuff, wrote the first thing that popped into mind — hence not being a part of the BC universe! I think I’ve still got to read yours from last month! I’ve lost track of everything — but the book’s (mostly) all done, so I can work on clawing my way back to get on top of things.

Sometimes that’s the best method for us. Overthinking sure doesn’t seem to work ha,ha. It’s not just you that’s miles behind either. I’ve not even written this months promot never mind anything else!

I am over six weeks removed from WP! Eek. That’s a long time when I think about it. Just been so busy, but hoping to make more time for BB! I’ve left Gary holding all the bags! haha I hope the book lauch goes amazing!

Six weeks put in words seems like years lol. I keep meaning to have that book chat with you too…just not quite sure why time seems to be flying past. My youngest has departed for uni since we last spoke! Hope alls well Rachael

It does seem like years! I’ve had the oddest time adjusting to the kids being back in “school” and balancing that with work. I’ve had a lot of work also, for which I’m so grateful, but it’s taken up a lot more time than I can wrap my mind around. Wow! Uni?! That’s great. How is that going?

Bit like my replies of late! Years behind ha,ha. Adjusting this year is really tough. I’ve seen you promoting work on Facebook too. Good to hear you’re busy though. The Uni thing was hard too. Sent into a place that’s now back in lockdown. Not a good time to be a student really. However he is doing very well from what he tells me so that’s a good sign methinks.

Thanks, Rachael! Yes, I understand — been busy myself. Hope all is well in your world. 🙂

Another quick one Abe. I think I’ve added this to the line up, but as I said with Doug the editor is acting up on my iPad. The save option seems to have gone AWOL, yet the preview shows the links are there. Must be Dougs virus at work Ha, ha.

As much as I’d like to blame Doug’s virus (very nice piece for someone who claims he’s not a sci-fi writer!) I also agree wholeheartedly with him about the new block editor. Like you, I feel like they’ve hidden things from me!

Agreed. Doug did a pretty good piece considering his claim! I can’t even find the blasted tags and categories now either 🙄

Hi, Rachael and Gary
Here’s my contribution for this month. https://sixcrookedhighwaysblog.wordpress.com/2020/10/08/exotica/
Regards
Doug
PS – Gary, try to keep the smile off your face as you’re reading. This is NOT science fiction. 🙂

Fast off the mark Doug. I’m a tad behind here as I’ve logged in to find the editor somewhat different to normal. Hopefully I’ll figure it out testing adding you to the story post now… that goes live next Tuesday so fingers crossed! But not science fiction…. might read it first then post edit ha, ha.

Thanks, Gary. Welcome to the nightmare that is the new block editor on WP. I handle it by using Classic Editor in the post options.

I’m thinking of doing the same now Doug. So trying not to be a technophobe, but the interface on my tablet is pretty grim with this new block thing. Then again “block” seems to be the right word choice!

The method I use is to start a new post, click on the + sign on the top left, scroll down to Classic Editor, click and magically you can use all of the old editing menu.

That, Doug, almost sounds too easy ha, ha. Thanks for the tip. I’ll definitely try that if I can conjure up a concept for this month. So far the muse has been silent.
