Oh dear lord Lilly! This got snagged deep in the spam folder which I’ve just reviewed and cleared out. So sorry about that. I’ll add this to the August entry post now and pop over ASAP.
Please accept my apologies, it’s rare genuine posts get caught by the filters.

I wonder why more link posts are going to spam lately? WP must have changed something in their algorithms. I’m glad you caught it, Gary, but we’re so sorry we didn’t catch it sooner, Lilly! ❤

I caught two this time round. But even that seems high compared to previous months. I guess it’s best to check on each visit for the time being.

Yes, that’s probably wise. Keep that spam folder clean. Maybe you want to take half the month and I’ll take the other?
LikeLiked by 1 person
That’s almost an organised approach 😳 I can take the first two weeks if you like. I will, obviously, still drop in when I can after too. I’ll also check spam more too so between us we shouldn’t miss anything and regular emptying will make it easier to spot true comments.

Sounds good to me, Gary! Now to me being consistent. 😀

Here’s my wretched attempt amidst the chaos of stream of conscious writing… which reminds me, must look out for the Friday prompt for that one too 🤔

Here is the “Wretched” story. Obviously, a parody if you have ever read Robert Louis Stevenson. Enjoy.

Hi Sue, this link took me to a create post screen. I’ve visited your site and think Treasure Cruise is the one you’ve done for this month. Mostly because of the “wretched ocean” part 😂
Is this it?

If so I’ve added the right one, if not let me know and I’ll edit the edit!

Sorry Rakayle, this got stuck in the spam folder and I’ve just found it! Will add you to the story post now.
Again sincere apologies for not seeing this sooner!

Thanks for finding it! I’ve had problems with this before.

I’ll keep an eye on the spam folder now then, just in case. If you do have future problems try and leave a comment to that effect in a new thread and I’ll investigate it for you.

Oh man! I’ll have to be better about checking that folder too.

Sorry I am only posting the link now. But here☝is my take on the prompt word😶

No need to apologise! You’re still earlier than me and I had a years notice of the prompt words!! Just added yours to the story post so will have a proper read shortly 😊

Alright, Thank you Gary🙌🙌

You’re welcome and powerful read. I knew where you were coming from without the imagining comment at the end. The emotive content is raw indeed.
Have you turned comments off? I couldn’t find the box to do that 🤕

O my God, I am only noticing this now. I am trying to resolve it but don’t know how.
Sorry about this.

No need to apologise… I’m reknowened for mucking things up here!
Check your other posts first to see if comments are working. If they are then the settings for this post need turning back on. If all comments are not working then the solution is from the admin dashboard under posts. I’m working from memory here, but I can check if you want.

Actually if it’s just the post, go into edit it, open settings and scroll down to more options and the enable comments tick box is alongside allow pingbacks and trackbacks.
If you’re copying posts to save starting over each time like me then it’s possible it was turned off in a previous post and carried over.

Woah! Finally! The comment section is now available. Thank you so much Gary👏👏🙌

Excellent… I’ll be over to tomorrow now to test it 🙃
Intriguing though methinks…. next time you just get post likes might be an idea to check comments are on…. note to self there too 😂

Very true. Lesson learnt😩.
Alright
See you tomorrow😁

Four days ago…. terrible my bad there, but as Mr Crabs says to Squidward… “What is today but yesterday’s tomorrow.” I’m intending a big catch up today though 🙄

Hi Gary😀. Atimes Mr Crabs is a deep thinker…
I look forward to the catch up.

On it soon, although now I’ve a predicament to solve too…scheduled post not actually paying attention to when it’s supposed to go live and in need of a manual push 🤕
Still, I actually made it before last minute.com 😂

Last minute.com Hahaha.
Sorry about the predicament. I hope it gets resolved soon.
I will always be happy to read you feed back whenever you can. Regardless of the time

Ha, ha, it got worse…. the re-theme reset commenting to bog off everyone, the post format is all over and the solution is escaping me and I’m still no nearer figuring out why the scheduling failed lol.

Oh sad! Sorry about that😧. Down side to Technology. They are as flawed as humans😑
WordPress should have Admin helpers? I am not yet conversant with this app. You had to help me out the other time 😂😂😂😩
LikeLiked by 1 person
Fear not, one problem was solved and the other is a quirk I’d not considered. Writing in one programme then cutting and pasting into the WordPress editor actually drags in formatting codes. Hence the format going wrong. More annoying when you find, after years of use, a blasted icon that strips formatting from the pasted text.
This time I need to edit the post and redo it to fix though 🙄

I should have called it “Sorry” because every time I re-read it, I feel I ought to be apologising for something, but I had to do something to get a mad tangle of alliteration out of my head.

Lol, nice one Mark. Just added it to the story post and will be over for a proper perusal pending priorities here 🤪

Crumbs Bella, is it really episode 14 already? Where has 14 months gone 😳
Just added it to the stories post and will pop over shortly for a catch up.

Wow, I saw the prompt, wrote the story, came back and somehow it’s the 16th of the month? Not sure where those days went, between now and then!
Also, this marks one year since I found this lovely little community! So, happy anniversary. Here’s to more stories to come. 😀

Same, Josh! Where has the first half of the month gone?! I’m so glad you’ve spent the last year here, and I hope you’ll make it another great year ahead! ❤

Ha, ha Josh… I knew this one would be right in your prompt zone. As for where time goes I’ve no idea here.
I’m miles behind here. Mind you I’m trying to get the blog theme sorted. Talk about learning curve although I’m stealing my wife’s time a bit here. Tech I do, arty and presentation I don’t… think we’ve had that discussion before!
Rachael, I did email you back so just checking you got it here 😗

Am I really the first to post this month? Miracles do happen!

Yes, you are #1! 😀 It is such an interesting word to be here at this time. We plan the words at least six months (up to a year) in advance and schedule them out, so I didn’t even remember this one on the docket. Is that a new profile image? I like it! Any significance?
LikeLiked by 2 people
Thank you, and yes, I upgraded my website recently and am slowly making changes to it. The image is a blend of Celtic and Native American motifs, two cultures I draw inspiration from.
Two months in a row of very significant words … too bad we have to wait to see what the August prompt is!
LikeLiked by 2 people
I love it! Very pretty. In colors, it also has an East Indian appeal, I think. Well, keep up the good work. And now you must wait in agonizing slowlness for the days of July to drag by until August’s word is revealed! Muahahahaha! 😀

Scheduled for Thursday. Didn’t see the pandemic coming when we conjured this prompt list last year 🤕

So true. Wish it didn’t fit the times so well. 😦 I suppose, for some of us, it could be a word that helps release some of the tension that might be inhibiting writing during this tense time in history.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Very true. Although I’m thinking of diverging from reality and going into a different reality where things are a bit rosier…although maybe not for the wretched one 🙃
LikeLiked by 1 person
haha I don’t know, that might be an interesting dicotomy between a rosier place and a wretched…something!

Ha, ha. Yes, most prompts are compiled a year in advance and Rachael schedules both prompt and story posts as soon as that list is agreed 🙃
