you made it, but I didn’t! Sorry for not getting your story added sooner, but it’s going up right now. 🙂

I am new to blog battles. I am trying to get back into writing. So, I took a former short story I wrote and rewrote it to fit the prompt.

Fantastic! Welcome to the battles! 😀 I’ve done the same thing before, but it totally works.

I’m taking part in NaNo so I might not get to this…

That’s okay! Unless you can throw a harp in your NaNo project and give us a snippet! 😉

Hmm… Note a lot of chance there… 😉

Wouldn’t work, huh? Not even if someone harps on someone else? 🙂

I haven’t put that in yet… I’m not sure I would but we’ll see. 🙄

🙂 How’s the NaNo writing going? I’m so far behind, I am pretty sure I won’t ‘win’ this year. 😛

I wanted to share a piece I wrote last year for a different prompt. It fits with this prompt, too. https://dailyflabbergast.wordpress.com/2018/04/03/cw-flying-fingers/

You almost scared me with this month’s prompt, but it only took a couple of seconds for me to realize it would actually work quite well! 🙂 Here it is:

Looking forward to seeing the other entries!

ha! That’s funny. I wouldn’t have thought of that itty bitty word causing heart palpitations. 🙂 Glad it worked some magic on you, though!

Reblogged this on Rachael Ritchey and commented:
Well, well, well! #BlogBattle has drifted into November like a dusting of snow in fall. Actually, that’s what really happened at my house a week or so ago! It was more like an inch and a half than a dusting, though. Anywho! Our word this month is HARP! What have you got?
Oh, and you NaNoWriMo folk, I challenge you to add the Blog Battle word to your WIP!

Ooh, if you mean add the word to an excerpt and use it for this months entry then I’m in! Not sure I want to write a dedicated BB this time as I’m close to getting ahead on NaNo!
Scheduling this now for tomorrow on mine 😊

🙂 That’s what I was thinking. Just an excerpt. Happy writing, Gary!

Shoot, so far behind here and less so on NaNo…not sure which is worse! An excerpt it is then 😳

I’m so far behind on NaNo, I’m not sure I’ll be able to catch up. I thought I could be a full pantser, but I. CAN. NOT. Bleh. haha

I’ve got Joshua commenting on some posts I did re NaNo and positives from not hitting the target. Keep going Rachael… any words are a win and we can all hit the camps in better shape…ish.
Some spend months preparing for it from what I see. I’m a total pantser so, obviously, I don’t lol. Planning I’ve tried and I end up going nowhere fast. That’s my Bleh 😱

I’m currently 8000 words behind today’s goal. That’s not completely out of reach, but without having a clear grasp on who’s POV I want to dominate this book to drive the story, I’m really floundering, and it is annoying. haha I’ve never done the camps. What is that like? AND happy pantsing!!! 😀

Shoot 4 days since I logged on here! My very bad indeed. Are you still struggling with the driving POV? NaNo is so unforgiving once word counts slip. Not that anyone says you must hit the “target.” Any words are better than none after all. Camps are much less stressful. Writers can buddy up in cabins and each sets their own target. Anything from editing a first draft to a word count that best fits life. Very good for building and sustaining a habit too. I think they host three a year leading up to the big one this month. I’ll try and catch up with BB this week too. I’m about 6K off the target now so I’m pretty sidetracked. That’s me pantsing proper 😂😂

I think I’m close to 12,000 words behind now. Maybe more. I haven’t logged in since Friday, I think. The days are rushing by, and I haven’t had a whole lot of time to write. I haven’t been making the time either. Just need to turn off my inner editor ALL the way and say no to other stuff and hide from my children. haha I think I’ll have to try a camp this next round. Thanks for explaining that!

Just no, no no lol. There’s no time to edit and proof in this one! I know what you mean though, but I’ve kind of trained my pantser skills to shut those out. First draft is merely the bones to flesh out in the editing process. That said I probably self correct a lot as my brain is moving faster than the typing so it ends up being written on auto-incorrect mode.
I also know what you mean about making time. I’m not too hot at that either. I need to slow down sometimes and assess priorities. Thing there is it’s almost the weekend again already…even though it’s only Wednesday night… what gives there???
Camps are much easier too. Less pressure so let’s see if we can get a BB cabin up 😁

To true. Some days it’s easier to let go and write than others. And yes to that BB cabin. 🙂 Great idea!

I’m so behind! I forgot post Nano I end up really drained! Well mentally that is. Definitely up for the BB cabin and already sending soundest out. I’ll write a post for it too if you like 😊

Between BlogBattle, NaNo, and Reedsy, it seems that all I do is write, nowadays! Not a bad thing, mind you. 😀 Hope you’re all well!

lol Not bad at all! 🙂 I’m going to try to incorporate this word into my NaNo story! 🙂

That’s a really good idea! In hindsight, that might have been the sensible thing for me to do, too. I did a separate story, like a lunatic…

Ha, ha….I need a dose of nothing but write! NaNo is going well, but I’ve ended up spending most of today voluntarily line cleaning in a pub that’s under new management so my beer is good when it opens Friday 😂😂😂
Will try and read this in a spare moment Joshua!
