I’ve actually got myself scheduled now, so third week of the month is #BlogBattle!! Woohoo!

OMG…that’s called planning and time management! I so need to do some of that. I feel very far behind this year!

Nice! I really need to be better about scheduling again. I have got out of the habit…far out of the habit. haha

Alas, life had other plans and I didn’t get this done as soon as I wanted, but here it is now:

I hope this works. WordPress was kind of mean to me tonight!

Hi Chris and great to see you here! Nice story. I left a comment just now, but am assuming it’s gone to moderation or spam as it’s not appeared. Thought I’d let you know in case it has gone somewhere else entirely!
I’m adding this to the entries now. You can find that from the drop down menu top left under Battle Entries. This months is live now with easier links listed together rather like an online short story anthology. New prompts go live in the first week of each month, usually a Tuesday.

LOL yeah, only the page owner people can edit and change comments. I will be going to that main “please buy my book” page and having a look around. 🙂 I’m glad you finally joined the battles!

Welcome Jessi! Sometimes comments don’t appear after submitting. I find refreshing the page manually often captures them. At least that’s what happens with me now and then! Looking forward to having a read now 😊

Weird, but glad you noticed! I was about to track down your story from your blog, but then saw you’d posted another comment. 🙂 Thanks!

Hi all, here is my entry, unfortunately, I do not own a diamond necklace suitable for the photo. The stock photo is not really appropriate – https://justmuddlingthroughlife.co.uk/2019/08/09/long-day-police-interception/

I diamond necklace! I like the emerald at the center, though. 🙂 And a story is even better!

Good start just replying straight away Simon! Same here though in hoping to get one in too! I can’t believe how fast time seems to fly at present.

I would like one of those pretty old analog stop watches where you can press the top and stop time…or at least slow it down to catch my breath. 🙂

Hermione’s time Turner is what you need! Well, what I need too come to think about it! I’m currently pantsing, but not certain it’s working. I guess 1000 words will soon decide it one way or another!
LikeLiked by 1 person
lol Yes, could come in handy. I think even when we pants we still need some kind of framework, otherwise these short stories grow to massive beasts! 🙂
LikeLiked by 1 person
Um, therein is my pantsing problem… I always see bigger stories. Even some of these prompts are shouting God Strain material now! Now I know why I’m rubbish at them!!!! How on earth do folk do micro fiction 😳
LikeLiked by 1 person
I’m with you, Gary. Even when I give myself a beginning, middle and end, I still fill it all up with the bits that make a story and it’s so fat, there’s no way that story will fit in a microfiction prompt in this life or the next. lol

The only problem is that I’ve now got to wait a while for next month’s prompt! But I’ll have everyone else’s great stories to read through in the meanwhile. 🙂

SO true. You’re making me repeat myself, though. You got an idea and ran with it. 🙂 Now you’ve got time to intercept and enjoy more fiction. 🙂 See what I did there? haha jk Do you follow/participate in any other word prompts?

Thanks, Gary! Here’s a link to the Reedsy weekly prompt: https://blog.reedsy.com/creative-writing-prompts/
They give new prompts each Friday, and you’ve got a week to submit! 1,000 – 3,000 words is the limit.

I know! The months have come and gone with such rapidity this year that I cannot possibly imagine actually completing the projects I so wished to have done! If I can get just one done….
I can at least intercept the months by writing a short story for blog battle this month!
LikeLiked by 1 person
I’m in the same boat! I really must publish something this year! Although I’m fairly certain I said that last year too. Having sad that I’m pondering intercept now. Even thinking of starting it tomorrow…although where it leads I’m not quite sure…except Corona (The AI from that prompt) is jabbering something!
LikeLiked by 1 person
Chase it, Gary. 🙂 I’m all set to release my story tomorrow. 🙂 I already have a post on my blog today, so don’t want to stack them too tight. And will also FYI about the prompt at the same time. 🙂

Ha, ha! I’ve just seen your ping back here! If you’ve not started compiling the entries I’ll add them in a minute…if you have I’ll check new ones are up. Well done too. Often for busy schedules doing straight away is more likely to get one in. I know if I’m not on it quickly then time flips past too fast. Speaking of prompts… when do you want to compile next years lol
LikeLiked by 1 person
There are only 8 more prompts lined up, so maybe next week we should ask for new word suggestions for next year. What do you think? We can randomize them and set up the prompts from there. 🙂
LikeLiked by 1 person
Lol, I was looking through the scheduled posts and it struck me it might be an idea to try and make time before Christmas hits! Next week sounds good. Six each and random it up as you say. That gives us over a year to write stories!! Heck surely we can do that 😂😂
