Better late than never Mark! Normally it’s me so late I never quite get anything in on time! Nice insight into chicken amnesia too. Will comment there later, but will insert your tale into the entry post now!

Nice serialisation Rakayle. I hope my comment came through as my Google account isn’t the most used one by me!
Looking forward to seeing where Heinz takes the investigation next time!

Hi there! First time here — I’m brand new to WordPress. I love the idea of a monthly prompt! Here’s my story: https://joshuainsole.wordpress.com/short-stories/a-new-breed/

Brand new to WP and here! Welcome to both then Joshua. I’ve been over and commented already too. Hope you enjoy both future prompts and the WordPress experience. 😊

Thanks for the welcome, Gary. 🙂 I look forward to next month’s prompt!

My pleasure Joshua! I remember starting on WP and thinking “Heck, everyone is so established, confident and has loads of followers!” It’s now I realise how welcoming the blogging community is. Same on Twitter when you find the right community to engage with! Next months will be on us pretty fast if my experience of this year is anything to go by! Almost August already!!!

Welcome Joshua! I’m so glad Gary is around to make sure no one gets left wondering at our communication around here. haha I’m Rachael, your other friendly Blog Battle host. Errr….I think I’m friendly. My kids think I’m nerdy, but I suppose I can be both. So welcome to Blog Battle!

Hi Rachael! Yes, Gary gave me a most warm welcome! 🙂 Thanks for welcoming me, it’s great to chat with you all. Being nerdy and being friendly aren’t mutually exclusive, haha! 🙂 Looking forward to the next prompt!

It’s uncanny that I was just inspired yesterday and today brings me this prompt, so here it is: https://awlscribe.wordpress.com/2019/07/13/on-math-variables-and-constants/

Great to have your contribution by association. I guessed at it whilst reading your post and am now rather more convinced of the use of constant as the inferred reference to stability. In fact I rather like that connection being somewhat familiar with physics! Great to have you joining in.

Hi, all. First time here. Seems like I wasn’t the only one to make the horse connection but no good shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted, so here goes. https://sixcrookedhighwaysblog.wordpress.com/2019/07/10/stable-martial-relations/

Welcome Doug. Always appreciate new folk to here and the entry post, which can be found by navigating to Battle Entries in the drop down menu (top left) will take you to said post where all the entries are listed with links to the stories.
Loved yours by the way, although I did mention that in a comment there 😊

I’m sure I’m not the only one, but finding out this month’s word is Stable immediately brought me to mind of Unstable. Great story fodder! Here’s mine:

I think I was also influenced by the Independence Day celebrations.

Ha, ha Abe, too right! The obvious was horses so it seems a few of us have dipped into the minds stability, or lack of! As you rightly say, great story fodder. Will add this to the entry list… but must go read it first!

I was already amused when you mentioned horses and how you took a different tack, but now I also realized the word fodder can also apply to that subject. Oh, what our unstable minds can cook up!

True enough, saddled with wordage around a prompt direction none of us were riding to.
This could get out of hand….or is that not get reigned in??

LOL! We’d better quit while we’re ahead … or maybe we’re way behind?

Agreed, better to dismount now rather than fall off later!

Ok well, I’m supposed to be novel writing tonight but I’ve done blog battle instead. Why is it that it takes longer to post the story to the blog then it takes to write it? Grr to SEO.. thanks!

That would be the issues with tech previously discussed no doubt! Good to see a post here too. Will zap it into the entry page post haste…then pop over and have a look-see. Intriguing title too. 😊

Sorry… I have no idea what just happened, or why my story posted twice. 😩. Technologically incompetent is me. Some things never do change. Lol!

Don’t tell me….you’re off work Tuesdays and had it done before I got chance to even see you’d put it up. Ie yesterday with me checking today lol. Fear not, we write, technology is other folks forte! I’ve done this hundreds of times too 🙃

Actually I worked a 10 hour shift yesterday. Lol! Wrote this story this morning before work. Must be why it’s only 450 words. 😉

Oops… sorry, Gary. I really don’t know why. Feel free to delete as needed, especially if it keeps posting. Lol!

Ha, ha! I’m updating the story entry page so will clean this up tomorrow. Rachael’s away at the moment amidst the castles of Ireland so I’m keeping house. Hope to get over and read all the ones I’ve added before the weekend too!
